Background & Expertise

AI FUND
AI Fund is the most highly anticipated venture capital firm in Taiwan in the past decade. With a fund size of $100 million USD, it is expected to generate tremendous impacts in the Taiwan investment landscape and global AI market.
As the venture intern, I help setup the fund by delivering on three fronts: 1) Fundraising 2) Due Diligence 3) Deal sourcing.

For fundraising, I am mainly in charge of drafting the Private Placement Memorandum in both English and Mandarin. It is a cornerstone legal document for fundraising, and has been used to secure $900M NTD from the National Development Council.

For due diligence work, I have been responsible for listening to startup pitches and conducting research reports on technology companies. My most comprehensive report is on a AI gaming firm called Spirit AI.

For deal sourcing, I have completed portfolio analysis of 3 major VC and angel fund firms with a series of unicorn track records. For Palm Drive Capital, I looked at Jet.com, Clover Health, and WeLab. For Mucker Capital, I evaluated Alcatraz AI, Honey, and BloomNation. For Seraph Group, I analyzed AARKI. Overall, I am looking to find synergy between AI Fund and these firms.

TAIWAN AI LABS
As the Project Management and Public Relations Intern at the smart city team, I was responsible for managing the team's progress on developing a 360 AR digital tourism platform called "Taiwan Traveler." To this end, I often have to establish Gantt charts, participate in meetings, and prepare progress memos for this project's commissioner, Taiwan's Department of Transportation.

PM duty aside, I also worked as a PR extensively. The entire social media presence of "Taiwan Traveler," including its YouTube, FaceBook, and Instagram accounts, are all managed by me for a lengthy period of time. As a bonus, I also edited a few commercials and improved their watchability.
I actually quite enjoyed the creative freedom offered by content creation, as I often have to consider who my target audience is and at what time should I post to achieve the widest reach. This is a great training for using social media tools and gauging what your audience wants to see.

XING MOBILITY
I was the sales and marketing intern at XING Mobility. In this role, I function as a researcher, writer, and occasionally videographer. This was my first time doing a marketing-related job outside of school clubs, I had my first encounter with a CRM system and learned about the importance of tracking your client's behaviors and act accordingly to what insights data can provide. I helped my team in finding the latest EU emissions regulations (an incredibly difficult feat because there are so many stages and vehicle weight classes to consider), the macro trends in the automotive industry, and compile data for newsletter writing.
June 2019 - August 2019
SINOLINK SECURITIES
I was a financial analyst intern at Sinolink Securities. The job was in Shanghai and living in Pudong for two months was an immersive experience as I got to visit many places and interact with the locals regularly.

My job as a researcher requires me to look deeply into China's gaming and livestreaming industry. Gaming is so big in China not only because of its massive population, but also due to how addicted the players are. You could see people playing PUBG (Known under a different name because it is marketed as a "military drill game") even during the short 5 minutes wait in the lunch line. This unique environment made me appreciate the power of digital entertainment and how dominant the gaming industry would be in the years to come.
